Link Database To Excel is a free tool for linking databases through webdata with Excel, LibreOffice Calc or other sheet applications which support webdata.

How it works

add a datasource and connect to your favorite database
configure an endpoint,
- create a SQL query
- determine a name for the endpoint
link your Excel sheet to the endpoint
- open excel
- - select Data
- -- From Other Sources
- --- From Web
- paste the url/endpoint copied from the Endpoints list

SSH Tunnels are also supported which can cirumvent firewalls in some situations.

After the data is imported in Excel, the data will be automatically updated. The frequency depends on the software settings, this can be every minute or on opening the sheet.

* the macOS app is not signed and for that reason there's an error after downloading that the application is damaged. Removing the 'quarantine'-flag fixes this:
xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine "Db To Excel.app"
